Weeknotes

In an effort to try and ‘show my work’ and keep it out in the open (and hopefully help people understand the role of a CCIO in a community trust) - I’m starting to try and keep ‘Weeknotes’ - a very short summary of my weekly comings and goings. Other people are using medium for these and using a template. Maybe we’ll get to that at some point for the moment I’m just ‘free-wheeling’ on these.

Week Commencing: 21st November This week I have been for a look around another hospital, which was described to me as being at the beginning of it’s digital transformation. To say it was some way ahead of us is an understatement and it did really make me think that we need to make some significant changes in our area to even begin this process.

We continue to work on rolling out virtual wards and have begun to put a much bigger team into place to deliver, with a more robust governance structure. As unexciting as that sounds to past-me, I’m really looking forward to having some time to concentrate on some other projects! It has been a good week getting the new lead for the virtual wards project settled in (at least partly settled in!). It’s also been another week of producing a lot of assurance for the many ‘masters’ the project has. It has made me reflect on the amount of assurance we require of projects and how effective this assurance is?

We also kicked off a project for auto-scheduling of community visits this week - I will say I’ve not had a huge amount of involvement in this - but am looking forward to hearing about people’s experiences with it to see what it can offer our others services.

On Wednesday I left the house at 05:30 to make my way down to London for the HETT Digital Academy Graduates show which was a fantastic opportunity to see people from the course (for only the second time in real life - for some only the first!) and a great chance to discuss the real life issues around implementing these digital projects - and another person from Lincolnshire there as well! I personally get more from these aspects than the formal talks and presentations - but am extremely grateful to anyone that puts themselves out there to give a presentaion.

The rest of the week has been filled with the usualy governance and meetings which I’m sure I will detail at some point - but will leave this one here.
